Give children a simple animal checklist to use during a zoo visit. Each sheet includes animal pictures and names, checkboxes, and a space to count how many animals they found.
You’ll receive two PDF pages: one full-color checklist and one black-and-white version. Both feature zebra, lion, gorilla, monkey, penguin, elephant, alligator, hippo, giraffe, rhinoceros, seal, kangaroo, otter, snake, bear and turtle.
You can use this for zoo field trips, animal units, observation practice or family visits. Recommended for PreK–3rd grade. This resource is also included in the Zoo Field Trip bundles.
Look over the list before you begin, then invite children to share what they spot. Leave time afterward to talk about a favorite discovery.
