Why Use The Village exists
I know how much time goes into planning lessons and finding materials. I make resources that are easy to prepare and use.
I create collaborative posters, biographies, language resources, and phonics activities for classrooms, tutoring, and homeschooling. When I’m making a resource, I ask myself: Will this genuinely save a teacher valuable time and help their students stay engaged and learning?
Why I made Pocket Phonograms
The idea came to me while I was pushing my little girl on the swings. She seemed up for a little practice, and I wished I had our phonogram flashcards nearby. I couldn’t leave her to get them, but I had my phone. Why couldn’t I have the cards on there?
I kept thinking about all the other times we could use them: waiting in line, waiting for our food at a restaurant, or playing on the swings. We didn’t need a whole lesson. Sometimes we just had a few spare minutes and she was interested.
That’s what got me started on Pocket Phonograms. I recorded the sounds in my own voice so parents and teachers could hear how to say them and practice with their children or students whenever a good moment came along. Take a look at Pocket Phonograms.
